Position Summary
Steel Forgings Inc. (SFI), a leading manufacturer of custom butt weld fittings for the oil and gas industry, is seeking a General Laborer to support production in our steel forgings plant. No prior experience is required — we will train the right candidate. This position involves assisting with basic production tasks, handling materials, and maintaining a safe and clean work area.

We are seeking a Cylinder Shop Assistant to perform a variety of duties in our cylinder/pipe department. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•    Read a tape measure
•    Use a cutting torch
•    Read a blueprint
•    Stamp a heat code on cylinder
•    Willing to perform other tasks throughout the shop as assigned by the supervisor.
•    Strong work ethical self-starter who will take ownership of assigned duties.
•    Forklift operator skills.
•    A strong, team first attitude.
•    Punctual, and reliable.
•    Willingness to learn and acquire other skills as necessary.

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing setting
• Exposure to heat, noise, dust, and heavy equipment
• Required to wear safety gear (hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection)
• May include overtime and shift work

Physical Requirements

• Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, and climbing.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Working in temperature zones that may include hot environments for extended periods and environments where dust is present.

Qualifications

• No experience required — on-the-job training provided
• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
• Ability to follow instructions
• Dependable and punctual
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
