Manager/Supervisor
Position Summary
Steel Forgings Inc. (SFI) is a leading manufacturer of custom butt weld fittings that has been servicing the oil and gas industry for over 70 years. SFI is seeking a hands-on experienced individual to manage the day-to-day accounting and administrative functions of the company. Responsibilities
- Responsible for accurate monthly financial reporting and annual external audits.
- Monthly reconciliation of material receipts to general ledger inventory activity.
- Collect and analyze job cost data and maintain company pricing matrices.
- Monthly preparation of product line margin and profitability analysis.
- Preparation and presentation of financial reports for ownership and BOD.
- Ensures collection and payment of applicable local, parish and state taxes.
- Responsible for monthly local, parish and state sales tax compliance and filings.
- Responsible for accurate and timely filing of property tax valuations.
- Backup for critical H/R, A/P and A/R functions including processing payroll.
- Additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- 7-10 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to analyze financial results and explain variances in a clear and concise manner.
- Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced MS Suite and Excel skills (charts, pivots tables, and advanced formulas).
- Data visualization software knowledge and experience.
- Strong time management, organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Deadline oriented and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Must be extremely detail oriented.
