Position Summary
The Press Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of industrial presses and furnaces to manufacture high-quality steel fittings to detailed job specifications. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality assurance within a high-volume production environment. The operator is also expected to perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot minor issues, and maintain accurate production records.

Position Summary
The Press Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of industrial presses and furnaces to manufacture high-quality steel fittings to detailed job specifications. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality assurance within a high-volume production environment. The operator is also expected to perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot minor issues, and maintain accurate production records.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture fittings to specific job specifications and blueprints/drawings.
- Operate and control industrial presses and associated furnaces.
- Set up machines, which includes changing out and organizing press tooling based on production schedules.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues that arise during production.
- Conduct quality control checks using precision measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and scales to ensure products meet specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Operate equipment, such as a forklift and cranes, to move materials and finished products.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and procedures, including the consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize safety hazards.
- In the absence of the lead press operator, assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations and production output of the press.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience operating a press or similar industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Prior forklift certification.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret detailed job requirements, blueprints, and diagrams.
- Proficiency in utilizing micrometers, calipers, and scales.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to perform movements including walking, standing for extended periods, bending/stooping, turning, and reaching.
- Ability to work in hot environments for extended periods.
